A low-growing, aromatic perennial with dense, mat-forming foliage and masses of tiny purple flowers that attract bees and beneficial insects. Milder in flavour than common thyme, it’s traditionally used to soothe sore throats and coughs—especially when sweetened with honey. Thrives in well-drained soil and tolerates part shade. Ideal for borders, rockeries, and pathways where it gently creeps and releases fragrance when brushed. Sow after frost.
