Glamour garlic is a striking Turban group variety known for its bold flavour, vibrant colouring, and fast-growing nature. Originating in Australia and named by Patrice Newell, it produces medium to large, flattened-round bulbs with striking purple-striped skins that fade to pale mauve as they cure. Inside, 9ā11 plump cloves range in colour from purple-striped to pink and cream, with easily peelable skins. The plants have long, floppy foliage and may or may not develop scapes, depending on climate, but tend to bolt more reliably in cooler regions. With a hot, rich flavour when fresh that mellows to a sweet, aromatic profile when cooked, Glamour is a versatile and visually stunning garlic variety, well-suited to warm, mild, and humid climates across Australia.
