Garlic

Glamour Seeds

(Allium sativum)

Glamour garlic is a striking Turban group variety known for its bold flavour, vibrant colouring, and fast-growing nature. Originating in Australia and named by Patrice Newell, it produces medium to large, flattened-round bulbs with striking purple-striped skins that fade to pale mauve as they cure. Inside, 9ā€“11 plump cloves range in colour from purple-striped to pink and cream, with easily peelable skins. The plants have long, floppy foliage and may or may not develop scapes, depending on climate, but tend to bolt more reliably in cooler regions. With a hot, rich flavour when fresh that mellows to a sweet, aromatic profile when cooked, Glamour is a versatile and visually stunning garlic variety, well-suited to warm, mild, and humid climates across Australia. Hardneck variety.

General information:

Garlic

Allium sativum

Native to central Asia and used for thousands of years, Garlic is a flavourful and versatile food that offers a range of health benefits and is widely used in cooking and traditional medicine. It also contains compounds such as allicin which has antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties. Organic garlic is considered a healthier and more sustainable option compared to conventional garlic, as it is free from harmful chemicals and grown in a way that supports soil health and biodiversity. Many people prefer the taste of organic garlic as it has a stronger and more flavourful taste.
