Perennial from cooler parts of Asia. Large and leafy to 1m, harvest outside stems as required, eaten cooked as dessert with apples, likes to be well watered and fertilised. Leaves have oxalic acid so don't eat them. Shade tolerant, multiplies by separation. Sow spring, summer.
